From safaris, to pyramids to the beaches, there is so much to explore in Africa. It is home to 54 mainland countries and island nations with their own unique history, heritage, and culture. 

While beautiful beaches and rugged cliffs line its long coastline, its vast interior encompasses everything from mountains and deserts to tropical rainforests and the Nile river.



1. Egypt


Egypt is unlike any other nation on Earth with its historic structures and historical sites, which include the Valley of the Kings, the Great Sphinx, and the Giza Pyramids. History can be seen anywhere you go, with tombs and temples lying alongside statues and obelisks, all intricately carved.

It is located in the northeast corner of the continent and is bordered by the Mediterranean and Red seas, with the Sahara Desert to the south and west of it.




2. Kenya


Kenya is one of the best places in the world to see wildlife up close and personal. Its endless savannah and arid deserts teem with life as lions, elephants, and buffalo roam alongside herds of antelope, flocks of flamingos, and rhinos.  

It is located in East Africa with coastline on the Indian Ocean and is often considered a must-see destination to experience Africa's natural beauty.


3. South Africa


Located  the southernmost tip of the continent, South Africa has some of the best and most well-run national parks and game reserves in Africa. 
Without a doubt, Kruger and Addo Elephant National Park are the most well known and visited. 

South Africa is a joy to travel, with its majestic Drakensburg Mountains, dry Kalahari Desert, and lush Garden Route. To top it all off, the country's coastline along the Atlantic and Indian oceans is dotted with breathtaking scenery and world-class beaches. Many thrill seekers participate in diving with great white sharks offshore.


4. Tanzania


It can be difficult to know where to start in Tanzania because there is so much to see and do. If you want to go on safari and see the Big Five, you absolutely must visit the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater and the renowned Serengeti, both of which are located in the country's north. The tallest mountain in Africa, snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, is also nearby.

And just offshore you can find, Unguja, also known as Zanzibar Island. filled with soft-sand, white beaches and shimmering azure waters, it is definitely a dream beach destination.  Zanzibar does luxury pretty well, from treetop suites to private islands. Yet, the Zanzibar Archipelago has so much more to offer than romantic coastlines and blissful sunsets. This island has a fascinating history and rich cultural expressions, as well as being a top adventure and eco-tourism destination.



5. Morocco


A magical place to visit, Morocco is home to a mesmerizing array of beautiful old cities, medinas, and souks. These lie along the country’s scenic Atlantic and Mediterranean coastlines or tucked away amongst the Saharan dunes and High Atlas mountains.

Besides exploring the lively Djemaa El Fna and gorgeous mountain city of Chefchaouen, visitors can lounge on one of the country’s lovely beaches or head off into the Sahara. With so many different sides to it, Morocco is definitely one of the most spectacular countries to visit in Africa.
